Reduce Anxiety

Various studies have shown that CBD can help decrease anxiety. One study tested 24 people with social anxiety disorder and their reaction to CBD before performing a public speaking test. One group received 600 mg of CBD, while the other received a placebo. The group that had the CBD displayed significantly less anxiety, cognitive impairment and discomfort in speech (Bergamaschi, Mateus M et al., 2011)

Reduce Depression

Multiple studies have found that CBD affects depression in a beneficial matter.  A study conducted used rats that had ‘depressive-like’ genes. These rats also exhibited anxiety-like behavior during their initial behavioral tests. They were given varying ranges of CBD and then tested in various ways. This study found that CBD has a prohedonic effect on depression (Shoval, Shbiro L. et al., 2016)

Relieve Pain

Specifically in topical forms, CBD has been found to help ease pain.  One study in 2015 found that when using topical CBD, it's application was shown to reduce arthritis pain-related behaviors as well as inflammation, without any harmful side effects. The CBD was found to significantly reduce joint swelling, limb posture scores as a rating of spontaneous pain and more. (Hammell, D C et al.)

If sleep is an issue, CBD can be of service. Since CBD works with the endocannabinoid system in helping regulate homeostasis, it also affects one’s sleep cycle. One study used adult male rats and divided them into four groups; 2.5mg/kg of CBD,10 mg/kg of CBD, 40 mg/kg of CBD, and a placebo.  They recorded their sleep during light and dark periods for four days. The groups treated with 10mg and 40mg had a significant increase in the total percentage of sleep (Chagas MH1, Crippa JA, Zuardi AW et al., 2013)

Reduce Epileptic Drop Seizures

CBD has also been shown to decrease the amount of drop seizures in epileptic patients. One study administered 0mg-20mg of CBD oil per 1 KG of weight to three different test groups. The amount of drop seizures in these patients decreased by 41.9% when administered 20mg of CBD/1KG of weight, and a decrease of 37.2% when administered 10mg of CBD/1KG of weight (Devinsky, Orrin, et al., 2018 ).
